We’re excited to announce that the Central New York Digital Inclusion Coalition (CNYDIC) has received a grant from Schmidt Futures, a philanthropic initiative founded by Eric and Wendy Schmidt, that bets early on exceptional people making the world better. CNYDIC has received a Coalition Planning Grant that will assist with the expansion of its coalition, encourage additional digital inclusion partnerships, and explore how coalition members are integrating digital inclusion into their policies, procedures and strategic plans.
Digital Navigators Program
The CNY Digital Inclusion Coalition is in the process of developing a Digital Navigators program, a technology training and outreach program that assists people who are affected by the digital divide.
Trained Digital Navigators will help individuals and households get affordable home internet, affordable devices, and digital literacy training. The goal of Digital Navigators is to advance digital equity, which is necessary for civic and cultural participation, employment, lifelong learning, and access to essential services.
